TOURISM IN CALPE AND SURROUNDINGS – SUMMER 2025

Calpe, located on the Costa Blanca, is renowned for the imposing Peñón de Ifach, a massive rocky outcrop rising from the sea. This destination offers a blend of sandy beaches, hiking trails, and a charming old town with true Mediterranean flair.

In summer 2025, Calpe reached record-breaking occupancy rates:

- June: 79.87% 
- July: 81.26% 
- August: 93.57%

Both campsites and tourist apartments saw significant increases in occupancy. In August alone, tourist apartments recorded an impressive 89.84% occupancy rate.

Regarding visitor origins, domestic tourism dominated July and August 2025, accounting for 67.85% and 68.31% of overnight stays, respectively. In June, international tourists represented the majority, with 53.8% of stays.

In 2024, the Marina Alta region (where Calpe is located) welcomed approximately 1,519,748 tourists between January and July. Of these, around 300,000 visited Calpe.

At the regional level, the Valencian Community set a record in 2024 with over 11.27 million international tourist arrivals (as of November), with significant tourist spending. The region also recorded over 31 million overnight stays in hotel accommodations, with nearly 9.7 million guests.
