ALICANTE - ELCHE AIRPORT RECORDS THE BEST START IN ITS HISTORY IN 2023

Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport closed the month of January 2023 with 795,148 passengers, which is 1.3% more than the figures for the same month in 2019, the pre-pandemic year, and the best January in its history, with a 68.1% increase in traffic compared to January last year. 
Of the total number of passengers recorded in January, 793,973 were commercial passengers, of which 659,851 travelled on international flights, a recovery of 98.9% compared to January 2019 and 67% more than in 2022, and 134,122 travelled on domestic flights, 15% more than before the pandemic and 73.4% more than last year. 
Breaking down international traffic by nationality, the countries with the most passengers during January 2023 were the United Kingdom, with 245,279 passengers; followed by the Netherlands, with 69,503; Belgium, with 58,447; Norway, with 37,999; Germany, with 36,928, and Poland, with 30,786 passengers. 
In terms of operations, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport managed a total of 5,443 flights, which means recovering 90.5 of the movements of January 2019 and surpassing by 28.1% those recorded in the same month of 2022.
